According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, things are looking positive after the new BCCI president Shashank Manohar is believed to have invited his counterpart Shahryar Khan for talks.
Should BCCI get a go-ahead from the government, the tour may still be on; however, a considerably shortened one considering India's last Test against South Africa ends November 7 and the first ODI against Australia is scheduled for January 12 in Perth.
The BCCI Working Committee meeting will take place in Mumbai on Sunday, and Mumbai Mirror reports that besides other important issues, the board members will also mull upon the possibilities of reviving Indo-Pak cricket this December itself.
But considering the small window available between South Africa flying back home and India boarding the flight to Australia, the proposed full tour of the UAE involving two Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is is impossible.
The Mumbai newspaper also reports that there is talk of a tri-series in the UAE, involving India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; but none of the BCCI officials were open to discuss the possibilities surrounding the revival of cricket ties with Pakistan.
